Caseificio Montegrappa, a specialty Italian Cheese Factory

Nestled in the beautiful and quaint region of the Italian Prealps at the feet of the gorgeous Montegrappa mountain, the Caseificio Montegrappa is a traditional, yet innovative, cheese making facility. I had the pleasure of visiting it and tasting all the amazing products they manufacture. I created a portfolio of images to be used in their website and social media outlets.

Surrounded by nature and history, the Caseificio is located near the town of Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza.

Preserving the traditions of the area, the Caseificio, led by a team of father and son, Fernando and Nicola Favero, produces traditional (but rare) cheeses like the Bastardo and the Morlacco. The texture is rich, the flavor exquisite, one you have never tasted before, unique to this production, secret recipes guarded in Master cheesemaker Fernando’s personal knowledge. The Casificio is able to create this mouth watering cheese only thanks to his extensive experience.

The factory has several cellars where the cheese is allowed to age until it is deemed ready to be sold. Racks and racks of cheese provide an incredible visual effect but also a quite pungent odor, I have to say, after a while you get used to it!! :-)

Aging matter

Months are required for the cheese to achieve its maturity

In addition to the rich, nicely paired with a deep red wine, flavors of the aged cheeses, the Caseificio produces thousands of units per day of fresh and light stracchino and ricotta cheese, both from goat and cow milk. These products are distributed all over Northern Italy in supermarkets and specialty stores.

Milk like no other.

The quality of the products is

guaranteed by the utmost strict

requirements for the milk the

Caseificio uses, which originates

exclusively from vetted local farms.

Stracchino product line

The facility is spectacular, an example of modern technology and innovation. I have no idea what most of the machines were supposed to do but everything looked impressive. More so, I enjoyed seeing the people working with passion and pride, specialized workers who have been trained to perform tasks that not only require extreme skill but also love for the final product.

Milk tanks and fresh cheese

Creating images for this company and for the amazing people that work here has been a pleasure. This is a once in a lifetime experience I am very grateful to have had. Not mention I got to bring home a lot of cheese!! Gone, all long gone!! :-)
